Dear Ms Murphy
Proposed Vodaphone Base Station on Pavement ~ North Side of Abergele Road, Old Colwyn, Conwy.
I write as secretary representing the above mentioned residents association with reference to your discussion document which has been received by some of our residents.
Our residents association represents 561 dwellings in Old Colwyn and the location of your proposal is within our association boundary.
There is a large degree of concern in old Colwyn about this proposal opposite the new ALDI store and also the mast proposed for situation outside Tanllwyfan, Old Colwyn.
As the Tanllwyfan site is outside our boundary I will confine our objections to the Abergele Road (ALDI) site, there are other residents who will object most strongly to any application for the other site.
We have taken advice from professionals on the subject and also have grave concerns based on the health aspect of such arrays near to public places and near to homes and schools, all of which exist in proximity to the Abergele Road site mentioned in your consultation document.
Please take notice that our Residents’ Association is opposed in principle to the mast in the location for health reasons. The other reason that we would cite is the one of environmental impact in the main road through Old Colwyn opposite a new shopping area. Its impact we believe would be detrimental and we have had sight of other similar developments.
We ask you to examine the possibility of siting your array on the top of the Police HQ in Old Colwyn or the main mast in Llysfaen.
Yours sincerely
David Curtis
Secretary
