This web page is to give visitors an appreciation of  the inside of

St John’s Church.

 

The gardens of the Church are established as a wildlife garden

To start this exploration of the inside of the church, it is

necessary to explain that the page is dynamic, it will change as

more Information becomes available about the various

windows and artefacts

The East Window in more detail
Dedicated to the Glory of God and memory of James and Eliza Woodall of Old Trafford
and members of their family .
Annotated ~ Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the World
and This is my beloved Son in whom I am pleased; Hear ye him.
The window over the Font
Dedicated to Nicola Topping aged 9 years who died in Lusaka, Zambia in 1982.
A window above the Choir stall.
Annotated ~ And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and 
raught him and said unto him, o though of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt.
The Lady Chapel window
Annotated Hail Mary and  Behold the Handmaid of the Lord.
Dedicated to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Elizabeth Wilding of
Old Colwyn who died January 11th AD 1914.
The window was placed by her  Sister Emily Gertrude Horrocks.
On the south  wall a window of the Good Shepherd
Annotated I am the good shepherd and know my sheep and
The good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep
Dedicated to the Glory of God and in loving memory of David Pryce Jones
Vicar of Colwyn 1888 ~ 1893. This window was inserted by his wife and children
1903.
On the south wall a window of St Anne, Mother of BVM and St Winifred
Annotated Through the grave and gate of death and We pass to our joyful resurrection .
Dedicated to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Anne Jones, Minafon, Old Colwyn
Who died September 15th 1894.
This window was inserted by her husband 1903.
                                      The west window
Windows of St Mary BV ~ St John the Baptist ~ St Elizabeth .
In loving memory of Sarah Louis Morris, third daughter of James Woodhall
of Old Trafford, Manchester. Wife of RWT Morris of Tunbridge Devonshire.  
Born July 19th 1836, died March 11th 1907.
To the west of the front door ~ a plaque dedicated to the Glory of God
                and in memory of Ernest Owen Deane.
                   Warden of the Church 1907 ~1920
Annotated His life was one of quiet and faithful service.
The plaque was placed by his fellow worshippers.
The organ is quite spectacular and rare in Britain .
The Font
The Font bears an inscription that the cost was defrayed by collections
and offerings by  children
